Louis XV mahogany chest of drawers, fitted with a crossbow-shaped front. Two separate large dust cover drawers feature beautifully crafted bronze handles and a scrolled bronze entry complete with a working original lock and later key. The lower crosspiece has a cut-out underside with scrolls in the center and on the sides. This one is profiled with the feet. The rounded, knockout uprights end in strongly curved crowbars. The flat-banded sides are accompanied by upper and lower mahogany crosspieces, molded from the inside. The framed top is darkened with a speckled mahogany panel. It has a grooved edge that matches the shape of the furniture. ******* Period: 18th century Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. Restoration of use of the rear foot Waxed finish.
