This is a handsome French Regency style gentleman’s chest by luxury American furniture maker Henredon. The dresser measures 40” wide, 19” deep, and 49” tall. It separates into two parts for easier transport. The dresser is made of solid wood with beautiful walnut veneer. The top portion has two doors with fluted detailing, which open to reveal a spacious storage space with divided shelf above a small dovetail jointed drawer. The lower portion has 2 larger dovetail jointed drawers, shaped apron with central fluted panel, and tapered square feet. The original brass hardware is very beautiful and ornate with foliate back plates and escutcheons. The piece is signed Henredon inside one of the lower drawers. The 1960s era dresser is in very good vintage condition. The piece is solidly build and very well made. The drawers slide smoothly. Age related wear on the wood finish, including scratches on the top, wood loss on the back corners, and other scuffs. Please see photos for more details about the condition of the piece.
