A finely crafted Danish Modern chest of drawers designed by Svend Langkilde and produced by Langkilde Møbler, Copenhagen, in the 1960s. Executed in beautifully figured teak, the piece exemplifies the refined material sensibility and meticulous craftsmanship for which Langkilde is celebrated. The chest features six full-width drawers, each fitted with Langkilde’s signature integrated recessed pulls, carved directly into the front panels to preserve the clean, uninterrupted geometry of the design. Its vertical proportions are elegant and well-balanced, resting on four round tapered legs connected by lower stretchers—an architectural detail that adds both stability and a sense of lightness. The teak displays warm, even tonality with expressive grain patterns across the drawer fronts and case sides. The top retains its original finish, showing natural ageing consistent with careful use. The back of the piece bears the original Langkilde Møbler paper label (“Danish Design – Langkilde Møbler – Copenhagen – Made in Denmark”), confirming its authenticity. A classic and highly functional example of Danish mid-century furniture, combining clarity of line with superb joinery and enduring material quality. Very good vintage condition with light signs of wear consistent with age and use; small marks to top and minor wear around drawer pulls. Structurally sound.
