A French smaller-sized painted wood chest of three drawers from the early 20th century. This antique commode from France has a very subtle bowed front which carries through from the top to the chest below. The case houses three graduated and raised-panel front drawers, each adorned with metal Rococo style hardware. The skirt is scalloped on three sides, and emphasized at front/center with addition of c-scrolls and volutes. The chest is raised on four cabriole legs. There is a mix of older and newer paint, with primary color being off-white accompanied by gold trim accents. This French commode would work really well in a living room or bedroom, where a smaller sized case-piece is required.
