A very fine American Chippendale Walnut fluted quarter column chest probably Maryland or Pennsylvania 1800 - 1810. No replacements or repairs other than the hardware which although the appropriate style, is a later replacement. Nicely molded top with two small drawers over three graduated cock beaded drawers. Nicely shaped tall ogee bracket feet with all of the original glue blocks intact. Original drawer locks are in place and the drawers are all working smoothly in the case. Poplar and white Pine secondary woods. Note the original pegged drawer stops on the dust bars which are somewhat of a rare find. A very nice clean Philadelphia chest with a beautiful mellow aged color and patina to the Walnut.
