This large “two over three” chest of five drawers has a step-down routed edge to the top with an ogee molding beneath, creating a bold crown. The two top drawers are trimmed with a molding to give the appearance of paneled drawer fronts. These are flanked by split hardwood “beehive” appliqués. The lower three drawers are of equal depth and have reeded molding and hardwood corbels on each side. This chest has a great form with beautiful proportions and color.
