Swedish pair of 19th century black painted commodes circa 1870. Slightly different from the usual Swedish colour range, we are pleased to offer these chest of drawers finished in a matt black. Rectangular tops with canted corners, moulded edge and dentil detailing.  Each fitted with 3 pine lined graduating drawers, fitted with later handles and escutheons, set within a cartouche shaped panel on the drawer fronts.  Raised on tapered legs. Evidence of dead/inactive worm to back boards which has been treated.  Minor age splits to top surfaces.  Later paint, which has since faded to their current appearance.  Drawers run true and straight, ready for everyday use.
