A Swedish fir wood double drop leaf and gate-leg table table from the 18th century. This antique oval-shaped table from Sweden features two drop leaf sides, than when down, make this nicely sized oval table, a more slender 22.5" deep profile, allowing it to function more as a console type table. The top is raised on a baluster style frame, with four legs making up a rectangular center with box stretcher bracing, from which a pair of matching carved gate legs swing outward from the center, giving support for the upper leaves when the top is fully extended. There is a single slender drawer housed beneath the top at center. The fir wood has a lovely old patina, with top having been refinished at some point. This 18th century Swedish double drop leaf table is a very functional and nicely-sized piece which would work well as a console or large sofa table, with option to extend leaves when extra dining or work space is desired.
