Designed by Lucian R Ercolani, the Ercol Old Colonial 377 table is an earlier and rarer design than more recent Ercol tables. It has a more simple and honest rustic design aesthetic than their later more decorative tables. Produced in the 1960’s It has the ‘blue label’ which was only used between 1955 and 1975. You can see that the table has been well used and its surfaces have an attractive patina. The overall condition is extremely good. The table is solid wood, which is unusual - vast majority of tables of this era are veneer. The table top is solid Elm with a very distinctive wood grain, and the The ‘X’ frame support is solid beech with ridged detailing which is unique to the Old Colonial model. This model looks round but is actually a very subtle oval shape.
