Antique Frank Lloyd Wright Larkin Building Metal Built In Filing Cabinet Unit

An Antique Original Metal Built In Section of Filing Cabinet. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and from the Larkin Administration Building, Buffalo, New York (1904-1950). This unit was identified, authenticated and auctioned by the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy in 2009, Lot #6, and was a gift of Jack Quinan, Conservancy founder and Frank Lloyd Wright historian. A Certificate of Authenticity from the buyer at the auction will accompany this unit explaining the full provenance. As the building was demolished in 1950 there are very few industrial type items like this that remain. More on the Larkin Building can easily be found online. The last photo here shows a room in the Larkin Administration Building with this type of cabinet in multiples installed to a wall. The drawers all open and each drawer except the largest has adjustable sliders to accommodate how much is stored at a time. All of the hardware is original.There are drill holes at each corner on top as these would have been bolted together in multiples. The surfaces are aged and distressed but are all original enamel.
