Here is a beautifully hand-crafted piece from the 1800's that features turned wood details and an adjustable size. That's right, you can vary the length of the front by extending or inserting the "arms" which fit nicely into the center support. As you can see, in the first photo the piece is 39.5" long, while the 5th photo shows it at 47.5, the widest length. The piece appears to be made from mahogany (but I am not an expert). I love that the inside is lined with a heavy iron and matching iron nails. Shortest length in front - 39.5"L Longest/Widest - 47.5"L Wood on sides is 1.875” in width
