1960s Mid-Century Modern Cylindrical Floor Lamp In The Style Of Adrian Pearsall

Chairish

$625

This unusual midcentury modern floor lamp combines a cylindrical fabric shade with three wood legs and brass trim. The wood is either teak or walnut. The lamp was definitely produced during the period when interest in space travel was coming of age. The shape of the tripod legs and lamp shade resemble a rocket, without the pointed top. Although the manufacturer is not identified, this lamp is similar to lamps produced by the Modeline Lamp Co. It is styled after lamps designed by Adrian Pearsall. The lamp is 41” high and the shade is 8” across. The lampshade is 28” long. The legs are 24”:high and are wider at the bottom. The size of the lamp and shape allows it to fit in narrow spaces. The lamp takes one light bulb, with a pull chain on and off switch. The vintage lamps are in good condition for their age, since I estimate that they were produced in the 1950s or 1960s. There is minor wear and tear due to the age and use. The shade is intact, however, there is some crimping, and minor discoloration. Please refer to the pictures. The vintage wiring works, however, I recommend that vintage wiring be checked or inspected prior to use. Alternatively, the vintage wiring can be replaced. Unsafe electric lamps can cause injury from electric shock or fire. As the seller, I assume no responsibility for injury or property damage resulting from the use of these lamps.
