With its original Antique Brass patina, timeless Acanthus Leaf detail, fluted tube detail, natural Onyx base insert, and elegant sculpted glass shade, this classic Torchiere Floor Lamp exudes the beauty of an authentic antique. The glass shade is in excellent condition, with subtle detail and neutral tones that will complement nearly any décor. The maker and specific age are unknown. This lamp was originally in my grandmother’s home and later gifted to my mother. Fully re-wired, this lamp has been slightly modified using new matching period-correct parts and bronze-tinted lamp cord to preserve its antique style and bronze appearance. The new socket in this lamp will accommodate medium base (A19) modern LED and standard incandescent bulbs. For the most natural light, a ~3000k LED bulb (one included) is highly recommended. Please note that this lamp is a bit fragile by design and from age. It does not stand perfectly straight, it is top-heavy, and the component pieces do not tighten to a rigid condition. Once delivered, the upright components and base may need minor twist adjustments to stand as straight as possible. The torch holder itself will rotate, but the inside socket chain must be aligned with the outside torch opening (as seen in the last photos) for the chain to operate properly. While not required, this lamp may be best served by plugging into an existing outlet that is controlled by a wall switch.
