Floor Lamp By Pietro Chiesa For Fontana Arte, 1930s-1940s

Chairish

$10,211

An extremely rare floor lamp designed by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte, dating back to the 1930s and 1940s. Originally conceived as a table lamp, this 195 cm tall version is a floor lamp, exceptional in its proportions, materials, and state of preservation. The structure is composed of a metal base and stem with brass joints. The diffuser is made of frosted and engraved glass, topped by a transparent Nile green glass cup, a rare and precious detail that characterizes many Fontana Arte pieces of the period. It features a six-light lamp holder, with the original switch still in working order, a sign of its era and a construction quality that is difficult to replicate. Its dimensions (height 195 cm, diameter 79 cm) make it a striking and refined object, suitable for classic, modernist, or collectors' spaces. This piece represents a rare example of high-quality Italian craftsmanship in the field of decorative and functional lighting. A collectible and decorative object that tells the story of early twentieth-century Italian design. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
