Pair of floor lamp is an original lamp realized in the 1970s by Angelo Brotto (Venice, 1914 - Campiglia Marittina, 2002). Created for Esperia. Steel and glass. Mint conditions. Total dimensions: 180 x 35 x 35 cm. The weight is indicative. Angelo Brotto (born 1914, Venice–died 2002, Campiglia Marittima, Italy) was a Venetian designer and artist who is known for his work as a lamp designer and for his work with glass. He graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia in 1941, and immediately thereafter, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs commissioned him to paint frescoes in Montenegro. During the late 40s, he created pieces in Venice for Peggy Guggenheim’s collection, and during his career he won many design and art awards, including awards in Bergamo, Cremona, Suzzara, and Verona, as well as at the first Exhibition of Engravings in Rome. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
