Imposing floor lamp from the Italian manufacturer Foscarini based on a design by Marc Sadler from 2000. Here is the version with a normal E27 socket. An elegant design with special materiality. The slim lamp body is made of a composite of fiberglass and yellow Kevlar threads, which create a surrounding line pattern. The shape tapers sharply downwards and ends in a heavy plate base. It widens towards the top and is finished with a metal ring. The lamp is primarily a ceiling floodlight. The special material and the freely placed socket at the top end also allow light to penetrate into the interior of the translucent lamp body. A gentle downward gradient of light, the intensity of which can be adjusted using a dimmer, highlights the shape and materiality of the lamp. The Mite is not only a functional light source, but also an impressive lighting object. The heavy plate base shows another detail. It is chrome-plated and has a symmetrical groove decoration.
