The Lauro Floor Lamp from Marset draws its character from a coiled steel base that grounds the piece before the stem climbs to a considerable height. P. Aragay and J. Pérez Mateo first conceived this form in 1973, at a time when bending steel into that kind of continuous loop was still a real manufacturing challenge. A perpendicular bracket holds the dome shade near the top of the stem, where it can be angled and repositioned, while the opal methacrylate dome diffuses the LED source into a soft, even spread.
