The marziano (martian) floor lamp is an avant-garde tribute to mid-century design and the "space age" aesthetic of the 1960s. Italian designer dario nasuti reclaimed the classic structure of a three-light floor lamp, radically transforming it into a contemporary sculptural work. The piece takes its name from the hypnotic visual effect generated by its luminous core: the use of chrome-topped led bulbs creates a play of mirrors within the irregular holes of the spheres. This metallic reflection, which prevents glare, vividly recalls the mysterious eyes of an alien observing its surroundings. the process: upcycling and instinctive cutting every marziano comes to life in the designer's workshop in parma through a purely instinctive manufacturing process. The old light fixtures were replaced by three steel spheres of staggered diameters (15, 18, and 20 cm). Nasuti does not use precision machinery for the openings: he traces the circles freehand with a marker and carves out the steel by eye using a small angle grinder. This performative and uncalculated approach ensures that the layout, shape, and size of the "craters" are always unique. It is physically impossible to create two identical lamps, making each piece a unique collector's item. bespoke: a tailor-made unique piece beyond its inherently inimitable nature due to the manual cutting, the luminous sculpture offers a high degree of customization: aesthetic engineering: the updated, ce-marked electrical system is supported by the included chrome-dome bulbs, blending technical safety (anti-glare, cool light) and artistic expression. sartorial coloring: the entire lamp can be powder-coated in any shade from the ral color chart.
