The Mirrored floor lamp is a conceptual work that transposes the textile technique of "burn-out" (devoré) velvet onto the rigidity of steel. While in fashion devoré creates transparency by chemically removing fibers, here the designer manually intervenes on the metal to "empty" it and allow light to emerge. The result is a luminous sculpture where empty space becomes as much a protagonist as the material itself, creating a poetic contrast between industrial solidity and an almost ethereal lightness. The Genesis: Capucci’s Sartorial Legacy The inspiration for this sculptural treatment stems directly from designer Dario Nasuti’s background in high fashion, specifically his experience at the Roberto Capucci fashion house. Steel is not treated as a cold shell, but as a metallic fabric folded and incised with sartorial precision. The Mirrored lamp thus transforms avant-garde design into an architectural "gown of light," where every manual cut reflects the attention to detail typical of haute couture. Every stage, from the manual cutting of the square tube to the welding of the internal supports, is performed without external labor.
