Modern Floor Lamp In Steel, 1920s

Chairish

$760

This is an original and very rare Modernist piece made in 1930’s Czechoslovakia. It’s a remarkable, dominant floor lamp that is perfectly practical and can be used in different rooms of the house. This lamp have a minimalist avant-garde form but is unusually striking. The main design feature is the large adjustable copper headlight, which held by U shaped steel bar on each side and supported by a stainless steel round up-stand. The lampshade can be adjusted in four different directions. This piece was sourced from a villa in Brno made in the late 1920s and this lamp has the avant-garde radical design typical of the early Modernist era. The lamp has perfectly balanced proportions that look great together. All parts of the lamp but mainly the copper lampshade, have some patina on their surfaces. That actually give the lamp a unique charm and character, making this piece a truly one off. Overall this lamp is in great vintage condition and fully functional. There are no dents, only slight signs of natural wear and tear on brass and metal surfaces. Inside and on the edge of the adjustable shade, the white paint has some small wear. The old cable has been replaced with the new one that respects the character and style of the piece. European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
