Chromed metal floor lamp, icon of the modernist style, with a light reflector resting on a cylindrical barrel all maintained by a circular base, switch on the barrel. Circa 1930. good condition with slight dents and traces of oxidation. Wear & tear consistent with age. wired for european use. h : 62.72 inches one of this floor lamp appeared in the 1932 layout of the grand salon of the villa cavrois (croix), art deco master piece designed by mallet stevens. robert mallet-stevens (1886-1945) : from 1904 to 1909, he studied architecture. He became a major architect of the art deco period, applying a modernist style to prestigious constructions for a wealthy clientele (rue mallet stevens-paris xvi, house of the sculptor martel in boulogne, villa cavrois-croix).
