An icon of mid-century modernism, originally designed for Gaudi's La Pedrera building in Barcelona.In 1955, Barba Corsini renovated the loft space within Antonio Gaudi's famed "La Pedrera" building - transforming it from a storage facility into 13 beautifully-designed apartments. To complement the modernist architecture, Corsini custom-designed furniture for the space, including the now iconic Pedrera lamps and table. He leaned on Gaudi's architectural designs for inspiration - the base of the lamp inspired by the building's vaulted ceilings and the lamp shade referencing its chimneys.The lamp is made from powder-coated perforated metal - considered very avant-garde for its time. Today, the lamp is produced in Denmark by Gubi - a Copenhagen-based purveyor of historic and contemporary designs. Certified authentic and produced to the designer's original specifications.
