Postmodern floor lamp by Rolf Benz, designed by A. Engbert and F. Ringelhan in 1990. The design clearly draws its inspiration from the maritime world: an abstract sailboat with an exaggerated sail in both size and shape. The sail is designed as an elliptical tube and serves as a diffuser. The aluminum base is shaped like a boat hull. The diffuser is mounted at a slight angle and spaced apart from the base. The light source in the base shines upwards into the diffuser. Light also emanates downwards through a transparent blue acrylic disc, creating a subtle blue glow at the joint between the base and the sail. The lamp features a cord dimmer. It is in very good condition with signs of use and a patina. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
