It was his meeting with Jacques Adnet, director of the Compagnie des arts français, that would mark a turning point in his career. In 1951, Jacques Adnet commissioned Serge Mouille to create a “large light fixture” for his South American customers: the first three-arm floor lamp was born. Serge Mouille then passes from the status of master craftsman to that of creative artist. At the beginning of the 1960s, Serge Mouille decided to radically distance himself from everything he had created until then by developing a series of light columns with fluorescent tubes. In 1963, he stopped producing lights to devote himself to teaching.Suffering from tuberculosis, Serge Mouille died in 1988 and his widow, Gin Mouille, decided to continue to bring his art to life by publishing under license his most emblematic creations.
