Solid machined brass in dark patinated brass finish, hand-dyed and waxed leather wrapped wood, goatskin parchment pivoting shade with hand stitched edge, hand-dyed braided cotton cord, putty leather wrapped base. All material finishes are living finishes: they will change and patina for the better with time and use. Shades are made from genuine goatskin parchment, hand-selected for each lamp for its natural texture, pattern and color. Reminiscent of the lunar surface, its superior quality of light is unlike paper of any kind. Variations in pattern and texture are the be expected as each skin is unique. Shade construction is unlined, utilizing a single layer of parchment for optimal light transmission and may have a slight bow or curvature of the surface. This is a natural characteristic of the grain of the animal hide as well as the hand stretching and tanning process.Individually hand assembled and stamped with a unique serial number. Slight variations in color, size and shape are to be expected. Recommended bulb “60 Watt equivalent G18-1/2 White” included, max 60 watt bulb. Measures: Overall 51" H x 13-1/4" D x 8" W, Shade diameter 7" x 7" H.Dark patinated brass components can be buffed with a soft dry cloth to rebrighten over time; to regain leather sheen, simply buff by hand with a soft dry cloth (no chemicals or liquids) .
