Vintage Floor Lamp by Gianfranco Frattini, Italy 1960s. Height: 180 cm Width: 60 cm - Depth: 60 cm. Good condition. Gianfranco Frattini (Padua, 1926 - Milan, 2004). He was an Italian architect and designer. He is part of the generation that formed the Italian design movement in the late fifties and during the sixties. Frattini graduated in Architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1953. He opened his own professional studio in Milan, after working in the studio of his teacher and mentor Gio Ponti. His collaboration with Cesare Cassina for his homonymous company began in 1954, followed by collaborations with many other industrialists, such as Bernini, Arteluce, Acerbis, Fantoni, Artemide. He was a member of the board of the Milan Triennale. A great connoisseur of artisan wood, he forged a long and fruitful professional collaboration with the master craftsman from Bovisio Masciago (Milan), Pierluigi Ghianda. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
