Brutalist patinated steel ribbon lamp by Harry Balmer and Harold Weiss for Laurel Lamp Company, made in the United States c. 1970s. Although it was initially designed as an oversized table lamp – at a time when side tables tended to be lower than they are today – it functions equally well as a floor piece. Aesthetically the lamp remains in excellent condition. All welds remain perfectly intact. It has been rewired / resocketed to restore functionality. Laurel Lamp Co. insignia is visible on the socket sheath.
