The Wa Wa LED Floor Lamp from Catellani & Smith is a sculptural system of lights worthy of its Japanese name for ‘perfect.’ Creator Catellani & Smith builds on the idea of giving shape to light. Here, the studio uses intricate engineering to create a linear framework of sleek metal rods. Slender, adjustable arms branch out from these rods like the stems of flowers. Each stem receives brilliant LED lamping from an engineered glass lens. The rounded lens gives the LED light a circular cast outline against a surrounding wall. These bubble-like outlines combine to create a playful, ambient image.
