Tbilisi floor light by Nortstudio Dimensions: 50 x 100 x 100 cm Materials: Mirror-polished stainless steel. Red structured acrylic. Stackable and modular floor light. The beams can be stapled on top of each other in various numbers and combinations. They illuminate when stacked together through the use of a connector. Light falls through a series of circular openings. Three abandoned buildings with a strong geometrical character were the inspiration behind a new collection of sculptural objects. After being abandoned and stripped of ornaments, the pure architectural structure of these buildings becomes even more visible. Each object has its own purified design following the geometrical structure of a building. Over time abandoned buildings seem to adapt to the surroundings, just like these objects adjust and interact with the surrounding context through the use of reflecting materials. Mirror-look material and polished steel suggest infinity, whereas the existence of an abandoned building seems finite. All our lamps can be wired according to each country. If sold to the USA it will be wired for the USA for instance. Nortstudio was founded by Jef De Brabander and Kathleen Opdenacker in 2016. The studio and workshop is based in Antwerp. After working on individual projects, they decided to team up and start working as a couple together. They immediately experienced the advantages of working as a couple. Complete trust, understanding each other and never blaming one another, made it right from the start. Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard).
