I love everything about this globe -- the three seemingly hand-painted vegetable clusters (at the top of my list), the ribs at the top of the globe, the circular decoration on the bottom. Some white glass from this era seems to have been made to have a bit of opalescence and that slightly warm quality is the icing on an already delectable cake. The brand new metal fitter at the top has a brushed nickel finish. Old ones are close to impossible to find, and even if one is so lucky, the plating is usually shot. This new fitter seems to work nicely with the glass ball, in terms of shape and proportion. I'd use this light in my own kitchen, but there's no outlet!! Measurements: about 9 inches across, hanging down a bit longer than 9 inches.
