Murano glass flush mount ceiling edited by the famous Venini Italian and Murano glass producer.It is a special order (65 pieces) originally set in a hotel in the area of Bologne, Italy circa 1960. The globe is hand made and blown in Murano glass with a rare effect of "Maculatto" on the surface. This effect is quite some work as it requires a skilled glass maker to make each white dot one by one with the help of a thin stick of glass called "canne". Some of the dots are in between two layers of glass. The first layer of the globe once being finished, it is deeped into fusion glass (transparent) to cover the previous layer. The Glass maker then does another layer of dots. This manipulation can be done several times to create depth in the pattern, they can also change the colour of the glass (Cenedese, Venini, Seguso ...)The base is in brass white lacquered and is staped "Venini S.A.S.
