Rare original 1970s Plia folding chair with Vienna straw (cane) detailing. Designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli in 1967. Made in Italy. Superb Italian design featuring a rare version with a seat and backrest made of Viennese cane. Very good condition and fully functional, despite being over 50 years old. The frame shows signs of use and some spots of rust on the feet. Everything is sturdy and stable; easy to open and close. The original glides are still attached; I am also including 4 new black ones. There are two small areas of damage on the original seat caning. Nothing major; the chair is fully usable and ready for immediate use in your home. There is a lighter spot on the underside and the top of the weave. The caning on the backrest is perfect. The wooden frames on the seat and backrest are in very good condition. All details are clearly visible in the photos. Suitable for any living area and highly decorative.
