A striking example of the iconic geometric folding chair associated with Aldo Jacober’s celebrated Trieste design. As a piece of functional art, it is made of a substantial hardwood, surprisingly sturdy and comfortable with a simple sliding hinge on each side. The chair was ordered as a desk chair around 1981 through a classified ad in the New Yorker magazine. It was shipped directly from the manufacturer and took forever to arrive! There is no manufacturer’s mark, however. The chair folds nearly flat (see photo). After 40-plus years, there is some wear at the bottom of the chair, but mainly stains not scratches.
