George II period mahogany fold-over card table with a hidden drawer on the front frieze, the rectangular top with projecting shaped rounded corners, raised on four legs with distinctive carved lappet detail to the top of the leg and pad feet. It opens to a very good condition beautiful maroon colored tooled leather top with a concertina action, making a full apron all the way round below the table top. The hinged top opens to reveal recessed insets in the rounded corners for candlesticks and deep guinea or money wells. The underneath has hand-made hooks and eyes to lock the legs into position when open and also when closed. Excellent color and patina on an old refinish.
