This is a luxury guest towel from Marghab & Co. They were known for their high quality hand embroidery and unique designs. Located on the island of Madeira in Portugal, they were active from 1933 until the early 1980s. Marghab used fine Irish linen for their toweling and decorated them with exquisite cotton embroidery. This fingertip-size guest towel was hand embroidered in pink cotton with fish, coral and seaweed in the pattern known as Under the Sea. The edges on both ends are hand embroidered in a satin stitch. The long side edges are hand hemmed in a tiny fold over. Dimensions are 13.5” by 8.” Mint condition. I also am offering an aqua blue guest towel in this same pattern.
