A hanging lamp *by svend aage sörensen (1913-2004) *for holm-sorensen & pedersen belysning aps – holm-sorensen & co. A/s, denmark. *round lampshade made of seven rings, saturn style made of lammed copper *brutalist style, around 1960 dimensions height: 24.5cm ø: 32 cm height with cable: 50 cm *the length of the cable can be extended without any problems. *good, vintage condition, works without problems, no damage. * svend or sven aage holm sørensen was a danish designer who designed lamps for fog & mørup and lyfa in the 1950s before starting his own company, it is said. in the mid-1950s he founded his company holm sørensen & co. Production began with desk lamps, but svend invented his own special type of brass and copper. He used it to create very sculptural lights until the 1960s. The metal was often fired and cut into rustic edges and surfaces with a torch. This pendant lamp is a beautiful example of this technique.
