Designer Dario Nasuti sought to materialize the "Planet Gong" often mentioned in the group's lyrics, imagining it as a pulsating, asymmetrical entity. The work is not just a light fixture, but a spatial narrative blending music, geometry, and high-end upcycling. The Process: Industrial Metamorphosis The uniqueness of this piece lies in the choice of the base module: 250 steel cones originally intended for frying Sicilian cannoli. Through a meticulous manual assembly process in his workshop in Parma, Italy, these elements are joined to form a 35 cm diameter sphere. The designer deliberately pursued constructive asymmetry, leaving an irregular crack in the structure that serves as a luminous crater. This approach guarantees the total uniqueness of the work: the arrangement of the modules and the shape of the opening make it impossible to create two identical pieces. Alchemy of Reflections: Steel and Gold Planet Gong plays with a sophisticated chromatic and material contrast: The Exterior: The natural finish of the polished steel of the 250 cones reflects the surrounding environment in a fragmented and dynamic way. The Interior: The choice of a 7W LED bulb with a silver-topped dome is central to the lighting scheme. The warm light, bouncing off the internal conical walls, undergoes a visual alchemy: the silver of the steel transforms into a golden glow, creating an unexpected warmth that emerges only through the asymmetrical fissure.
