Artisan Glass Lemon Drop Brooch

Modern Artisans

$100

Lemon Drop Brooch Recognized as one of the most significant cultural figures of Victorian Britain, designer William Morris is remembered for his tapestries, wallpapers, stained glass windows and his contributions to the Arts and Crafts Movement. In 1967, London's Victoria and Albert Museum hired Morris to design their public tea room, today called the Morris room and is the world's oldest museum restaurant. Fruit and foliage were featured in the hand-painted wall panels that surround the space. The Lemon Drop collection recalls the Morris fruit panels, a timeless Arts & Crafts style interpreted in jewelry. Fashioned among curvy bronze leaves and blossoms, five lemons of artisan glass catch the light in an ideal creation for every season. Crafted in Connecticut, the metal portions are solid high-quality bronze cast with the traditional 'lost wax method' using the artist's original sculpture and provided with a hand-finished patinas of green and white. Glass portions are kiln-fired and cast by hand, in a warm, tasteful tone of pale yellow. The brooch measures 2" with a standard brass bar pin on reverse. Please note: Because the artisan glass is hand-cast, small variations are to be expected and adds unique artistic character. ~ Handmade in the USA ~ brooch size: 2.1" tall x 2" wide materials: glass , bronze
