This 18th century American kitchen table has turned legs and rails between each giving the piece a lot of stability. There is one long drawer across the longest side for cutlery and the top has rounded corners making the dance around the kitchen easy. Old shrinkage and staining on the top. Can also be used as a dining table. Just a lovely warm piece with a lot of age and patina. The top has been reused and given a new base probably in the 19th century, as many farmers did, onto another base. It may have been because as a family grew they needed a bigger table.
