French farmhouse or kitchen table, dating from around 1900. A rustic piece with clean lines, ideal for its original use as a dining table, desk, or kitchen island. The piece is constructed entirely of pine. It features an attractive two-tone finish: the pine plank top has been lightened (stripped/washed), revealing the natural grain, healthy knots, and a contemporary pale tone. The lower structure and turned legs retain their original dark stain. It has two functional drawers with simple metal knobs. Between the drawers is a striking diamond-point carving, a geometric motif characteristic of French provincial woodwork. Two original iron plates, visible in the second photo, are attached to the back and can be pulled out from under the tabletop. These plates held a separate auxiliary board, extending the work surface as needed. This board is no longer with us. The table measures 65.5 cm deep, extendable with the tabletop to 91 cm deep
