A superb chunky late georgian period butchers block in elm. This characterful sturdy block exudes timely warn dents, cuts and scrapes from years of cleavers coming down heavily onto its surface. The elm block has two sixty centimetre screw bolts going through the sides that connects the legs on both sides with screw bolt fixings. Four chunky legs support the top and we assume that the castors were added at a later date for easier manoeuvrability. Each end of the top has a series of three wooded turned pegs for hanging either implements or cloth etc. Whilst work was carried out on the block.
