The top of this tough little work table is comprised of a single slab of oak, almost 4” thick and almost 4’ long, sectioned from the trunk with one end still following the line of the tree, the other end squared off. The surface is covered with the criss-cross etchings of honest work in the kitchen or workshop. The oak legs are mortised directly into the underside of the top, splayed for stability and hand-chamfered till the square is almost round.
