This lamp was designed in 1969 by Jean Balladur, a leading architect of La Grande-Motte in southern France. Known affectionately as "BB," this lamp stands for "Borne Blindée" (Armored Bollard), and is a small-scale embodiment of his architectural philosophy—the fusion of structure and form. Its body, constructed of cast iron and lacquered metal, combines robustness with sculptural beauty. A rare example still retaining its original paint, this lamp is an iconic example of French industrial design from the early 1970s.
