$1,025

Offering a magnificent and exceptionally rare matching pair of mid-19th-century composite whale oil lamps. These lamps feature stunning emerald green pressed glass fonts in a classic pear/baluster form, joined by a wafer to a white milk glass (clambroth) stepped base. Each lamp is topped with its original period double-tube pewter/tin burner, designed for whale oil. The glass is vibrant with excellent clarity, and the "near mint" condition is remarkable for pieces of this age. These lamps represent the pinnacle of New England glass craftsmanship from the 1850s.
