Designed and produced in 1981 by Dutch architect and designer Mart van Schijndel for Martech, this rare pair of “Bishop” lamps reflects his architectural approach to lighting and his connection to Dutch Structuralism. An identical model is part of the permanent collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, underlining its cultural and design significance. Rarely seen on the market, they represent an important and collectible example of Mart van Schijndel’s work at the intersection of design and architecture. Each lamp is made of partly perforated aluminum and fitted with a PL lighting element.
