An alabaster 17th Century Burmese seated Buddha and made into a gorgeous lamp.. The seated Buddha was carved in the Shan style from alabaster in Myanmar, Burma. The Buddha is seated in the attitude of “calling the earth to witness”, his right hand delicately brushing the ground. This scene occurs during a long meditation which is enhanced by the serene face of the Buddha, and a soft smile. Made into an elegant lamp, yet the stone buddha is removable from the lamp base that is made of wood and includes the lovely lamp shade and glass finial. A rare and wonderful collectable and usable lamp.
