Monumental pair of lead crystal girandoles with bronze structure (it was called "Girandole" a branched ornamental chandelier or a lamp composed of several lights, often similar to a small chandelier. The Girandoles came into use in the second half of the 17th century and were commonly made and used in pairs. ); the base is square in shape and on it rests an amphora with handles, all in the bronze fusion of excellent quality, gilded, finished by hand and polished; the most important part of these two objects is the crystal one; on the five bronze circles, mounted to scale, faceted crystal rosettes have been manually fixed to which massive crystals are attached, cut in the shape of an arrow in a perfect and elaborate way, then finely ground; the first circle supports the illuminating part with four fake candles equipped with flame-shaped bulbs, between candles stand out four impressive pinnacles of shiny crystal cut and smoothed in an extraordinary way: a cascade of light! The girandoles are of very large proportions but on the whole, they are understated, luxurious and elegant. Their beauty reaches its maximum when they are turned on: a fabulous explosion of lights and rays incredible! It is a manual and sumptuous work of skilled French craftsmen, masters in crystal processing, performed between 1890 and 1900; they are presented in perfect condition, complete with all the crystals, ideal for decorating an entrance cabinet, or to illuminate an environment like abat-jour.
