This pair of c.1850 American mantlepiece girandoles show a boy and girl in a bucolic setting with a leafy tree and fence. The boy has his hand on a nest. These were almost definitely made by Cornelius & Sons (they often did not sign or engrave their name on their items). They are nearly always left as candlestick holders; but we decided to up their usage and turn them into elegant mantle lamps, or lights for many other uses you may have. Made of gilded brass with an abundance of fine-cut crystal spears, known as frog drops, hanging from each candle base, these have been discretely wired for modern use; their look from the front is 100% original, with added hand-dripped resin candle sleeves to enhance their look. They stand about 15" tall without the bulbs. They sit on marble bases that we felted on the undersides. The marble is a bit scuffed.
