This glazed stoneware lamp is a unique work by French artist Annie Maume, active in the 1970s. Halfway between sculpture and lighting, this work expresses great softness through an enveloping and symbolic composition. More than a simple lighting fixture, it is an inhabited sculpture, blending art brut and poetic expression. The motif depicts an entwined couple holding a child, in a soft and protective composition. Two stylized animal heads can also be seen, perhaps symbols of a connection to nature or quiet strength. The raw stoneware, coated with an earthy glaze, emphasizes the organic texture and expressive dimension of the whole. The light diffused through the openings at the base creates a warm atmosphere and highlights the sculpted volumes. The piece is signed Maume on the base.
