Large antique ship's lantern (masthead lantern) made of copper and brass with a glass Fresnel lens; converted to electricity, early 20th century. A magnificent piece full of character—not a replica, but a lamp that has actually been to sea; an authentic lantern that likely holds many a tall tale! Highly sought after by collectors of nautical items. In very fine antique condition; the copper has been polished while preserving its distinctive patina. The lamp is missing a small plate at the bottom (on the front and sides), and there are signs of age at the corners of the lid where the copper has some small cracks; however, the structure remains solid and the glass is completely intact. Please see the photos for details. Rewired with an E27 socket; LED bulb not included. Dimensions: 30 x 29 x 37 cm. Weight: 7 kg. European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
